SEA LIFE Oberhausen - Home to the World Famous Paul the Octopus.

We are proud to announce that our octopus Paul has become the most famous animal oracle of the world. During the World Cup Paul correctly predicted the winners in each round, something football pundits were unable to do. His exploits were featured on major TV stations across the globe. His story was the main topic of conversation on Facebook and Twitter. He was even regularly referred to in the commentary on some of the games in the World Cup's later stages.

Paul's name will forever rank alongside, if not slightly ahead of, other marine life notables such as Flipper and Keiko the killer whale.

However, not only Paul provides for enthusiasm among the visitors. Admire more than 20.000 sea dwellers - mussels, seahorses, star fishes, jellyfishes, sharks, rays and Green Turtles. Giant panoramic windows and a shoaling ring give you the possibility to explore the fascinating world of our marine inhabitants - without getting wet. The tropical ocean tank with more than 1,5 million litres of saltwater is the highlight in Oberhausen. Our walk through the tunnel offers a fantastic view of these magnificent creatures.
